The Project

 “100 Years of Shonto”

The Focus: The original focus of this project started in 2002  when Mary Anne Crowley-Miner, the Talented and Gifted middle school teacher at Shonto Preparatory School, was awarded a grant from Arizona's Salt River Company and the Library of Congress.  The purpose of this project was to help guide the students as they studied how Shonto's culture, land, people and attitudes have changed and how Shonto, Arizona has tried to create peace and balance over the past 100 years.  The project became very involved and continues to be an ongoing hobby for Mrs. Miner and her students.
